Class Materials

Materials are included at no additional cost for most classes at Atelier. Please refer to individual class pages for information about materials for that class.

Age Groups

The age group categories for classes are roughly broken down as follows. Check each class’s page for the specific age information:

Family: 5 - Adult
Children: 7 - 12
Teens: 13 - 17
Adults: 18+

Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at atelier@studiopatron.mom with questions.

Missed Classes and Cancellations

Insufficient Enrollment

The Paper Mouse Atelier reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. We will inform attendees by email three days prior to the start of class if a low enrollment cancellation occurs. Attendees will receive a full refund in the case of cancellation.

Inclement Weather Closings

Atelier will follow the weather cancellation schedule of the Newton Public Schools. We do not offer refunds in the event of weather closings, but will try to reschedule the class to a pre-designated make-up date if possible. We will offer a class credit if the make-up date cannot be scheduled, or is canceled again due to weather.

Substitutes and Cancellations by Instructor

If an instructor needs to miss a class due to illness or other emergency, Atelier will try to reschedule the class, or find a qualified substitute. If neither solution is possible, the class will be canceled, with a full refund for one-day workshops, or a refund of the canceled day, for multi-week classes.

Student Withdrawals

Refund policy:
  • 14 or more days prior to first class meeting - full refund
  • Less than 14 days before - class credit
  • Less than 3 days before - no refund or credit

We do not offer make-up classes, credit or refunds if an absence is reported after class has taken place.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need to withdraw from a class at any time due to illness, emergency or unforeseen circumstance. We strive to be reasonable and flexible with our class policies.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off

If a child is being picked up by someone other than their parent or guardian, they must indicate it on their Student Information Form. A photo ID must be provided at pickup by anyone other than the parent/guardian on file.

Students should be picked up directly after class. If a student is picked up later than fifteen minutes after the end of class, a late pick-up fee will be charged, of $15 for the first half hour, or $25 for an hour.

Media Release

Classes and camps at The Paper Mouse Atelier are sometimes photographed for publicity on our website, social media and other promotional materials. Permission to be included in publicity is implied by enrollment. Please contact the office in writing if you do not wish to be included in publicity.

FAQs

You do not! This online counter is here so that you can track your progress in line and return when your number is about to be called. We encourage you to take a look around our shop and West Newton Square while you wait.

Unfortunately not. In order to keep the lines flowing, we ask that all members of a group be present to request their own ticket.

No, each ticket is for one person only. The exception is children 6 and under, who can enter with a parent or guardian.

The wait can vary significantly by day. You can ask our staff for an estimate when you arrive. On peak days when there is a line, we will be limiting attendees to 30 minutes each in the venue.

Please check in with staff at our shop to get a new ticket if you wish to re-enter the event. When there is a queue, we will not allow re-entry until the queue has cleared.

Please try to be at the event space when the ticket counter is around 10 numbers away from yours.

If you were not around when your number was called, let our staff know. You'll be the next to enter once there is enough space in the venue.

Yes, there is. Our bathroom is not wheelchair accessible, however; if you use a mobility device and cannot walk down a flight of stairs, please let our staff know so we can tell you about nearby alternatives.

Show your event ticket at Moments Cafe (1284 Washington St) from August 25 to August 31 to get 20% off your order.

This promotion does not apply to online orders.
